First Aid Offsite
1.17.14. Offsite First Aid Requirements (Sporting Trips / Excursions / Camps)
All off-campus trips should include at least one person trained as a First Aider. Depending on factors such as the size of the group, type of activities planned, duration of the trip and remoteness of the location, additional persons trained in first aid may be required. It is the responsibility of the person planning / in charge of the off-campus activity, to conduct a formal risk assessment.
The risk assessment must ensure adequate First Aid provisions are made, including the appropriate first aid equipment, the number of adequately trained First Aiders. Risk Assessment templates are available on SIMON – Staff Links – Occupational Health & Safety – Risk Assessment Excursion.
